The Poc Poc waterfall is a natural water source hidden beneath a micro valley, surrounded by Inca trails and ancient buildings. Meanwhile, to enjoy its fresh water and the beauty of its surroundings, you only need to hike downhill.
Additionally, the landscapes of the great sacred valley and its snow-capped mountains can be appreciated from the trail. In every step you would find streams, trees, bushes, corn crops and much more typical flora from these lands.

Itinerary
This innovative hike to Poc Poc waterfall begins at 8:00 a.m. from your hotel to travel by our touristic transportation for 1 hour towards the ancient Chinchero town, where you will have the chance to visit an Andean textile center to learn about these ancient techniques.
Then, we will walk among stone streets until the archaeological center of the town, where we will find the foundations of what was once the palace of Tupac Inka Yupanqui. Considered as the Inca navigator, perhaps this historical character could reach some Polynesian islands.
As well, you can see the temple of Virgin of Monserrat and then keep walking to the area of terraces and stone stairs that will gradually lead us to a beautiful Inca trail surrounded by stone walls that will be the beginning of the hike towards Poc Poc waterfall.
Then, we will follow a wide path that descends until our destination, and each step allows you to appreciate the changing scenery and vegetation around. Little by little the valley will become narrower and lusher at the same time.
After walking for 1 hour on average, we will arrive at the beautiful Poc Poc waterfall. Here, the environment changes completely and the spray of the waterfall will refresh our skin to rest for a while next to this wonder of nature. By the way, Poc Poc waterfall is 30 meters height.
Once you have enjoyed a unique place and taken unforgettable pictures, we will walk downhill to Urquillos. This stretch will take us 2 hours and 30 minutes approx. until that beautiful town in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Afterwards, we will board the transportation to travel for 20 minutes towards a touristic restaurant in Urubamba to taste a delicious lunch. Then, we will travel back to your hotel in Cusco. Arriving at 16:00 hours on average.

    From 15 years old, because although there will be no steep stretches, the distance to complete is too long for younger children.
  • After the hike, can I travel to Machupicchu?
    Yes, after lunch we can take you to the Ollantaytambo train station to board your train. But always previous confirmation of this requirement.
  • How many kilometers of trekking are there in total?
    To reach poc poc waterfall it is 2 kilometers, while to get to Urquillos it is 5 kilometers. Making a total of 7 km. downhill.
