Itinerary
Make sure you sleep early the night before this incredible hike, because we will pick you up from your hotel at 04:30 a.m. to travel by our touristic transportation towards the traditional Layo town (4 hours). Here you can enjoy a delicious local breakfast and take pictures of its picturesque main square.
Although before arriving in this town, we will stop at the viewpoint of the Langui Layo lagoon to appreciate its clear water that serves as home to many fish species and economic resource for the local people who are dedicated to fish farming. As well, it is the migratory destination of many Andean birds.
After breakfast, we will keep traveling for 45 minutes through a dirt road full of beautiful scenery until we reach the Chosaqtera community. This is the starting point of our hike to Pallayponcho Mountain.
This trail will head you through wide and beautiful pampas for 2 hours on average. Despite it is an uphill path; the panoramic views along the path will improve this unforgettable experience until we reach our destination.
The Pallayponcho Mountain is rocky and colorful, boasts a breathtaking view of the Andes mountain range, as well these lands still have peace and quiet all around. Although the most outstanding feature of Pallayponcho is the colorful soils and the variation of turquoise, reddish, golden and white tones that create a visual effect that resembles an Andean textile.
Meanwhile, the shape of the entire mountain looks like a gorgeous Andean poncho. Therefore, its fusion of colors and natural shapes make this touristic destination one of the most surprising throughout Peru.

Afterwards, we will hike back through the same path to board the transportation and travel towards Layo town, where you will have lunch and then keep heading to Cusco city. You will be arriving at your hotel around 17:30 hours.

Recommendations
