Itinerary

We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 6:30 a.m. to travel by our touristic transportation towards southern Cusco. On the way, you will be able to appreciate several Andean towns and villages with beautiful natural landscapes.
After 2 hours and 30 minutes, we will make our first stop in front of Pomacanchi Lagoon. Due to its size (the largest lagoon in our journey) there are many Andean fish that live in this lagoon, such as huitas, ccarachis and ch’iñis. After free time for photos, we will keep travelling and appreciating the nearby lagoons from Acopia, Asnaqocha and Panpamarka.
Make sure you have your cellphone or camera in hand to take lots of pictures of these lagoons and their flora and fauna!
After traveling for 1 hour and 30 minutes, we will arrive at Quehue town, where the famous Queswachaca bridge crosses over the Apurimac River.
When you get off the touristic transportation, you will walk down through a stone staircase that head you to the beginning of the bridge. At that time, you will realise that the whole bridge’s structure is made of straw (qoya ichu) and has 33 meters long.
While you will be crossing it, you will feel a unique sensation, as the wind and your footsteps will cause the bridge to sway slightly. Although our tour guide will accompany you and explain the annual renewal process of this world heritage site.
After enjoying this unforgettable landscape and learning more about the impressive Queswachaca bridge, you will have enough time to enjoy the delicious box lunch that we have prepared for you. In order to have a great lunchtime, we will look for a suitable and comfortable place to rest and eat, close to Queswachaca bridge.
